p.02How a page gets made

From script to moving panel, in four passes.

One panel, four passes. Read down the passes and the same panel is re-printed: thumbnail, pencils, inks, then a moving final.
  1. Storyboard thumbnail in grey pencil

    Pass 1 — Script

    Write the panel

Brief it the way you'd brief an assistant: who is in frame, what they're doing, the angle, the light, the style. Shot type and mood words matter more than adjectives.

  2. Blue-pencil rough of the rooftop panel

    Pass 2 — Pencils

    Lock the character

Start from a character sheet — front, side, back — and keep it as your reference. Upload it to pens that take an image so the next panels stay on-model.

  3. Black ink line art of the rooftop panel

    Pass 3 — Inks

    Frame the shot

Pick the panel shape: wide establishing shots, tall strips for a fall, square beats for a reaction. Re-crop the same set-up the way a board artist would.

  4. Pass 4 — Motion

    Let it move

Turn a finished panel into an animatic: give a first frame (and a last one on pens that support it), choose the length in seconds, and the model fills the frames between.

Double-page spread: a tram crossing a long bridge above the city under an enormous pink moon

p.03–04 · centre spread

One prompt. A whole double page.

Splash pages, establishing shots, covers — describe the scale and the light, and the still pens print it edge to edge.

Ten pens, one desk. Pick the one that suits the shot.

Every pen is priced before you ink. Here are the leads — the rest of the box folds out below. Card pictures are stills from the Ulvom studio, not samples of each pen.

You asked. The studio answers.

Q.Who owns the panels I make here?

A.As between you and us, you do — stills and clips alike, commercial use included, as far as each model provider's terms allow. That covers your own characters and worlds. It doesn't hand you rights to anyone else's: a famous character, a franchise logo or another artist's work stays theirs, and making or selling it is on you. Original work is the point of the place.

Q.Do I pay every month?

A.No. You order credits once — a print run of five sizes or a custom amount — and spend them panel by panel. Nothing renews, and credits never expire.

Q.What does a moving panel cost?

A.The lightest moving pen starts at 4 credits (€0.04) a second, so a 5-second beat starts at 20 credits (€0.20). Stills start at 4 credits (€0.04) each. The exact price shows on the button before you ink.

Q.Can I keep a character on-model across panels?

A.Mostly, with craft. Make a character sheet first, then upload it as the reference image on pens that accept one; for motion, give the first frame (and a last frame where the pen supports it). Describe outfit and colours the same way every time.

Q.Can I animate my own drawings?

A.Yes. Upload a finished illustration or a clean page as the first frame on a moving pen, describe the motion you want, and choose the length. Line art with clear shapes moves best.

Q.What happens if a panel fails?

A.The credits go straight back to your balance, automatically. You only pay for panels that arrive. Unused purchased credits can also be refunded within 14 days.

Q.Do you train models on my art?

A.No. Your prompts, uploads and panels are not used to train models and are never sold. A prompt is sent only to the pen you picked, to draw that panel.

Q.Which pens are in the box?

A.Ten right now: Veo 3.1, Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 mini, Seedance 1.0 Pro, Seedance 1.5 Pro, PixVerse V5, Happyhorse, Hailuo 2.3, Gemini Flash Image, Seedream 4.0. The cast changes as better pens arrive.
